Projects

Vise Jaw Stop

I designed and machined this tool as part of the IPD 501 course at Penn. It is a vise jaw stop, used by machinists to achieve repeatable results or to quickly produce many of the same part.

Rabbit

The goal of this project was to design and build a piece of “desk candy”. I made a small aluminum model of my pet rabbit. I learned a ton about CNC milling and surfacing.

Chess Set

This project was part of the IPD 501 course, my team and I built a custom full chess set. Using a CNC lathe and mill, we manufactured all 32 acrylic, brass, and steel parts.

Injection Molding

Using 3-axis CNC machining, I designed and machined tooling for injection molding. I then learned about the injecting process and made a bunch of these small, colorful glasses.

Stirling Engine

This project was completed in the MEAM 201 course. I designed and fully fabricated a running, custom heat engine. As a college freshman, this was my introduction to both manual and CNC machining.

Lathe Tool Holder

This was a summer project that I took on while working for the machine shop in 2022. It’s a organizational system to keep lathe tools in a safe, convenient, and clean location.

HAB Attack

My capstone mechanical engineering senior design course was a year-long research, design, manufacturing, and testing endeavor culminating in an award-winning project.

Jet Engine

The Penn Aerospace Club: Penn Jet Propulsion team built a functioning micro turbojet engine from 2021 to 2023. This project involved lots of high precision machining and very careful design.
